Artificial intelligence can now write code, solve research problems, and generate convincing essays. But when it comes to conversation, AI often falls flat. Machines can parse words, yet they miss the hesitation before a “yes,” the frustration behind a polite smile, or the subtle shift in tone that changes everything.
Copenhagen-based Interhuman AI wants to close that gap. The startup announced today it has raised a €2 million pre-seed round to build what it calls the “first social intelligence layer for AI”, a system designed to help machines perceive, interpret, and respond to the non-verbal cues that make up 93% of human communication.
The round was led by PSV Tech, with participation from EIFO, Antler, The Yope Foundation, and several angels from Ada Ventures. The funding will go toward expanding Interhuman’s team and accelerating the development of its frontier models and API, which aims to let any company add “social intelligence” to AI products with just a few lines of code.
Interhuman sees immediate opportunities in training and coaching, healthcare, and customer service, domains where understanding more than words could improve trust and outcomes.
