Orqa boosts drone production in Croatia as Europe races to break free from China-dependent supply chains

Orqa, Europe’s leading developer of FPV and defence-oriented unmanned aerial systems, has completed a major expansion of its manufacturing operations in Osijek, Croatia, scaling production capacity to 280,000 NDAA-compliant drones per year.

By relying exclusively on proprietary components designed and built in the EU, Orqa removes dependence on Chinese suppliers, a structural shift at a time when Western defence ecosystems are scrambling for secure, trusted alternatives.

The expanded facility reflects Orqa’s fully vertically integrated model: all critical components are designed, engineered and manufactured internally. This approach gives the company tight control over performance, reliability, cybersecurity and supply availability, an increasingly rare advantage in the global UAS market.

This milestone reinforces our conviction that Europe can build a secure and independent industrial capacity for defence technology. We’ve proven that high-performance drone production can be scaled outside of China, supporting resilient and trusted global supply chains. As demand accelerates, we’re ready to deliver securely and at scale
